Quality of life in childhood asthma Egle Vaitkaitiene, Rima Zunkiene, Kjell Reichenberg
In this literature review we discuss child asthma and health-related quality of life. Childhood asthma is an important public health problem. Attention as been devoted not only to a search for the factors working together in the development of asthma, but also to psychological, social and financial aspects of the illness. How the asthma affects the child and family varies much as do the ways children and parents cope with the challenge of asthma and its consequence. Children with asthma should be able to lead a normal life. By that we mean they should be able to travel, to work, to study, to participate in social events without being affected by the environment.
