Paediatric fibreoptic bronchoscopy Andrew Bush
Increasing numbers of bronchoscopies are being performed in children. The first and most important issue is to determine what exact information is required. There are various possible techniques, the choice of instrument and the anaesthetic technique being determined by the question being asked. Research studies will increasingly be performed at the time of routine bronchoscopy and intubation. Critical evaluation will be needed to ensure bronchoscopy is performed safely and for proper indications in all children.
