Dane Slapkauskaite, Tatjana Agejeva, Vilma Rasiuliene, Valdone Miseviciene, Arunas Valiulis

The goal of our study was to evaluate the amount of TB infected schoolchildren in Radviliškis region of Lithuania using both traditional East European and WHO aproved methods of determing of tuberculosis micobacterium infected persons. It was investigated schoolchildren population of 13–18 years of age. It was found 12,59 ± 1,99 perc. of TM infected children using traditional East European method and only 4,89 ± 2,08 perc. using WHO recommended method. Due to avoid both TB hiper- and hipodiagnostics in East European countries we need to evaluate once again the methods of detecting of tuberculosis micobacterium infected schoolchildren.
