Two clinical cases of the rare disease, pulmonary alveolar proteinosis, are presented in this article. Both cases were confirmed histhologicaly. Clinical aspects, radiological presentation, BAL fluid examination, indications for bronchoscopic or open lung biopsy and current concepts on pathogenesis and treatment of this disease are discussed.
